TRAVEL TO LANGKAWI
Now… come back to Johor Bahru after five days trip to Langkawi… 2 days getting sleep at bus as 11 hours travel from Johor Bahru to Kuala Perlis and 12 hours from Kangar to Johor Bahru… we took Maju Express… We took ferry to reach Langkawi Island from Kuala Perlis within one and half hour…
According to the plan… we stay for two nights at Mawanza Motel…
for me… it’s worth to get sleep at this place which cost for RM80 per night as the room provided with air-cond, bathroom and television… we just come back to our room for sleep… the location is near to Cable Car, Pantai Cenang and Hoping Island…. also the Langkawi Parade… the shopping mall… For those like to go for shopping… Pekan Kuah… is the good place to stay overnight as it’s near to jetty, shopping complex and Haji Ismail Group; the place to get cheapest price for chocolate…
about our activities….
nothing much we can do for 3 days as all of us are female… I’m afraid to go out at night… so, we just stay in our room at night… we just get this motel at Friday afternoon.. 3.00 pm if I’m not mistaken… we took taxi…which cost for RM8… I thought this motel is not a strategic place at the first… as we need half hour to get Pantai Cenang by driving… I thought we can get the attractive place by walking but the reality is not… I get frustrated and come back to our room to get release for a while… After two hours… I get release and ask my housemate to go around that place… Then, we try to explore…. ask other hotel on how we can get a rental bicycle, motor or car… most of them…ask us to go for Tshoppe that located at Pekan Rabu… we just ending up by getting for shopping… at this place.. which is five minutes walking from our motel…
the next day…. Saturday… we try to find Tshoppe to rent three bicycles… but unfortunately, we come too early.. 9.00 am… the shop is not open yet…
so, we try to go around this place…
the jetty is in front of us… we need to go there by walking… this time, we got confuse whether to wait the Tshoppe to get open or go to jetty… we ending up by go inside the nearer place that provide a tour…. we interested for Hoping Island…
So, I learnt more that we need…
1. rent a car or motor or bicycle if we wish to get around or going to attractive place in Langkawi… no choice…
This time…. we just rent a car (perodua kancil) which cost for RM34… it is within our budget… as a backpackers… we don’t have much money… we took the service at Tshoppe by renting a car for two hours (RM20) and extra charge for RM7 per hours… we got two hours late… and return the car after 8 pm… they sent us to our motel after that as they said… it was their service to the customer… to rent a car…we need to pay for RM100 as a “cagaran”… for me… it is the best choice we can do…. at that moment…
it is cheaper…and affordable for us… as we compare with taxi service… that they want to charge us RM80 for go and return to cable car… it’s too expensive…
2. find the right place to stay overnight
we stay at the Kelibang, Kuah…that is near to Langkawi Parade… we took taxi to go to the jetty on the last day… we go to Pekan Rabu that takes for 40 minutes by walking… it’s quit tiring… it is better if we can stay at Pekan Kuah area… that is the nearest place to Tshoppe and jetty itself…
the contact number if you wish to stay at Kuah area… this place is near to jetty, Dataran Lang, Taman Lagenda, Hoping Island, Kilang Gamat, Pantai Cenang, etc.

Pantai Cenang… this place is near to beach (Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah), Underwater World, Laman Padi, Oriental Village and Cable Car, Seven Wells, airport…
3. planning your activities with costing
activities done by us…
1. Dataran Lang… this place is near to jetty… have a lot of place to buy souvenir…
2. Hoping Island… we got around Pulau Beras Basah, Pulau Singa Besar for Eagle feeding and Pregnant Maiden Island… that cost for RM35 (adult) and RM21 (children)
3. Cable car…we got that place after 5.00 pm… waiting for 50 minutes to get seat in cable car… one hour for go and return plus stay at the check point to see from the top Mat Cincang Mountain… it’s cost for RM15 (adult) and RM10 (Children)…
4. Kilang Gamat
the place to cook “minyak gamat”…
5. Pantai Tengah
we just stay for five minutes only… we didn’t found any interesting activities at this place…

at the first..we plan…for the trip of four adult… as one of our housemate inviting us for her wedding ceremony… at Beseri, Perlis… congratulation to her and may Allah swt. give them barakah in her marriage with her husband…
we want to go there to make her surprise… but the things happen differently as one of our housemate is working on Saturday…she got noticed too late and we have buy a ticket for three people… as an alternative… we bring one of my sister to join us… to replace one of my housemate… she also is my sister… and another one.. has class on Friday… so, we just have different trip to go to the Perlis…and back to JB together…
this things… is out of our plan…as we try our best during the planning process to satisfy and make adjustment to suit all of us… but Allah swt. is All-Knowing… He arrange it differently… and I trust Him so much… He just make it THE BEST happen… Alhamdulillah… I’m learning from this trip…
- learning to appreciate others more (no matter who is she…)
- tawakkal (we do “solat hajat” (my housemate) and me..istikharah prayer) as realize that I have a bit preparation for Langkawi visit… I’m expecting my sister join, she has study more for this visit…but cancelling the plan at the last minute…So, nothing much I can preparing for… I’m doing istikhara prayer just want to ensure Allah swt. is be with me…during making any decision…
- accepting and controlling my emotion to make this visit worth…
- team-working and taking care others…
